I’m so happy to introduce you to Danielle! A fellow photographer and old friend, Danielle and I go way back! We were very close at a time in our lives where we were both young, single mothers. We shared struggles and strengths, and because of that we bonded. And while life took us separate ways that part of our friendship will always be meaningful to me! Birthday Blessings and Apple Picking

Well guys… I’m another year older. Normally this is something I would be pretty grumpy about but this year has brought so many blessings and I am very grateful! In the past year my business has exploded which is a great thing! There are things happening that I never thought would happen… I have people starting out in photography emailing ME, wanting to help ME, shadow ME, get ADVICE from ME! I am booked. I’m having to turn people down. That makes me sad because I wish I could do pictures for everyone, but that means my business is thriving which makes me so happy! I have photographers that I adore telling me I’m doing a great job and they are loving my work! What???

My family… These guys are the bomb. This husband of mine… while I’m at weddings and doing sessions which is something I LOVE… he’s at home on the front lines taking care of business. He is extremely supportive! And my girls? Well… they forgive me! They forgive me for being gone. They are also interested in what I do! They want to see the pictures I’ve taken. In a few years, Taylor might make a perfect assistant!

For my birthday this year we went to Carter Mountain Orchard! We had fun picking apples, eating apple cider donuts, and going on a hay ride! It was kind of rainy and VERY muddy (I’m still trying to get all of the mud out of clothes and off of shoes), but we had a blast! It was the best day because I was with them. I took a break (well, I still had my camera) and had a day with my favorite people in the world, and I LOVED it!!! Here are some pictures from our day!

Casey + William | Winchester Farm Wedding

I had been looking forward to Casey and William’s wedding for such a long time! Their love for each other is just so genuine and watching the two of them together is very heart warming. From the time I did their engagement session at their family’s farm in August I was totally excited to see their wedding day unfold! Casey and William said their vows in the yard of William’s family’s farm house where many other family members had been married as well! The air was crisp as their family and friends gathered, seated on hay bales, surrounded by candlelight, watching these two special people become husband and wife. The officiant spoke highly of the couple, William as a farmer and Casey as a nurse, and how they both nurture their community. They ended the night with their barn reception where their guests enjoyed lots of southern cooking and danced under gorgeous lights! Casey and William, I wish you such an amazing future together!

Casey, you are GORGEOUS!

Casey and William did something so special before their ceremony. William did not want to see Casey before the wedding so he was blindfolded and they met under the tree in the front yard of the house where they will live together. Their pastor came to bless their home. It was a really special moment!

T.J. | One Year

I can’t believe that this little guy is one year old! It doesn’t seem like that long ago when I was doing his newborn session. Hasn’t he turned into such a sweet and handsome little man? It was so much fun hanging out with T.J. and watching him smash his cake. We were also joined by T.J.’s cousin Aydon who’s first birthday was just a couple of weeks before! Hope you enjoy these cuties as much as I did!

Lauren + Nick | Engaged

This engagement session was special for me because I grew up with Lauren! We lived across the street from each other growing up and I was so honored when she contacted me about her wedding next May! Kaimbrie | Newborn

I absolutely adored meeting Kaimbrie. She is just as sweet as she looks! Her session was really special. This was definitely one of those sessions that really reminds me why I LOVE my job! I had done Noelle and Jason’s Maternity Session and I remember how excited they were… and now Kaimbrie is finally here and I can see how in love with her they are! The way they talk to her, kiss her, interact with her… they are already amazing parents! When I do newborn sessions and I walk into someone’s home and I can just feel how much they love their baby I am eager to capture all of the things that I know they will want to remember that go away so quickly… their little fingers, toes, and facial expressions! I hope you enjoy this session as much as I did!

Kimberly + Hunter | Engaged

I loved everything about Kimberly and Hunter’s session last weekend! They actually live right down the road from me so we didn’t have to go far to find some very pretty places to take their pictures. The light was so gorgeous but at the end we were racing against the sunset! I loved hearing about how they met and their plans for their wedding next year. I’m also a dog lover… therefore I totally fell for their sweet pup Calvin who sat still for a FEW pictures Enjoy!

Olivia + James | Fredericksburg Wedding

I was truly honored and excited to be a part of this wedding! Olivia and James said their vows in a sweet intimate ceremony at Lavender Heights Bed and Breakfast in Fredericksburg, surrounded by their family and closest friends. There were so many things I loved… the setting, the details, the colors, the bride’s SHOES!!! This was not a typical wedding day and I just really adored how special Olivia and James made this day for their guests. After their ceremony, a couple of trolleys picked them and their guests up and took them on a tour of historic downtown Fredericksburg. They even stopped and treated their guests to ice cream! The final stop was at the most amazing little restaurant where Olivia and James finished their celebration with an incredible meal!

Can you believe that Olivia made all of these banners by hand! So much time and love went into these and she donated them after the wedding so that other brides could use them!

I was completely over the moon when I saw my Peppermint Pretty Styled Shoot on the front page of Ruffled last month!!! Seriously… it’s one of my favorite wedding blogs! It made me thankful all over again for the amazing vendors that came together that day. It was so much fun!

Liz + Clarke | CrossKeys Vineyards Wedding

Where do I even start with this wedding…

The day was perfect. Liz was just glowing with joy and elation and you could see the excitement in Clarke’s eyes as he finally made Liz his forever. The venue was decorated with very sweet and personal vintage details that belonged to Liz’s grandmother who had passed away… such a special way to incorporate her memory into the day! The grounds at CrossKeys Vineyards made for an amazing backdrop for their ceremony. It was one of those weddings where you could just tell that every single person in attendance was so happy and excited and in love with this couple! From their emotional first look to the heartfelt speeches given by family members, happy tears were popping up all day long!

Plus… there’s a dog wearing a bow tie in this wedding. Just saying…
